I just wanted to know if the procedure which i followed to install MQ 6.0 on a Sun box which has MQ 5.3 till then, is correct or not:
1. I used the pkgrm mqm to uninstall MQ 5.3 from the Sun box
2. After un-installing MQ 5.3, i am still left with /var/mqm/... directories
I did not delete them because i want to keep the queue managers and other data.
3. I then installed MQ 6.0 by using the pkgadd command and i was able to display version, start queue manager, work with queues and so on...
Is this process correct? Even though everything is working fine now, will it be an issue in the future for me (because i did not delete the /var/mqm... directories from MQ 5.3)
Please advise...
I appreciate your reply
Thank you very much |

Looks like the standard way. Did you check what the upgrade manual said about it? _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

You might want to use "saveqmgr" to save your qmgr object definitions before you start... _________________ -wayne |
