Hi all,

our scenario

we have an UPES activity. users have no access to web client ie they cant see the process monitor to figure out the current status of process. But, the users are able to check the activities going on in process. When it comes to UPES activity, the user finds no activity in the process as the UPES has sent the message to invoke some application and waiting for the response. Users feel the process has stopped or message is lost. What we want to do is let users see that there is an activity going on and nothing is lost or stopped. Is it possible to do that? If yes, how do we do that?

Thanks.

I am not exactly sure what you are saying, but I think you might want to do a queryActivityInstances. I am assuming here that the users know what is going on by doing a queryWorkitems, and since UPES does not create a workitem, that is why they can not see what is happening.

Thanks for the fast response. I am sorry for not being very clear in my post. But, you got exactly what I was trying to ask. But, if I do that, wont I get multiple workitems in that instance?

If you do a queryActivityInstances with a filter specifying the Instance name you will get ALL the activity instances for that Process Instance. If you add State in Running, you will only get the ones that are running... these may or may not be UPES activities.
