hi all,

could any one thru somelight on SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN. i know that this channel will be created as default when a qmanager is created. but i have some problem like "maximum channels have been reached--> so the channnel has been ended abnormally" kindly post in ur answers for the following queries.

1. what is the use of this default channel?
2. when does this channel be used by the application?
3. what's the maximum no of channels it can establish with the client or with its own?
and much more concepts if u could !

1. It's the default client connection channel
2. If you set your application to use a different one, it isn't!
3. That would be the number specified as the maximum channel attribute

These and other concepts contained in the Clients and System Administration manuals (for starters)

I didn't get the previous answer, where need to spcify in channel attribute abt no of channels maxi can connect to this svrconn channel.

If you'd looked in the documentation I refered to in my previous answer, you'd see it's not specified on the channel...

It certainly is. It will also tell you about the ALTER QMGR command, which might be a better route for you to go.

This can also be found & evaluated against your need via the search function.

So it's not supported for distributed platforms? Well, shows what I know!
