Hi,
On my laptop i have installed MQSeries 5.1. Created a default Queue Manager from the COMMAND PROMPT. And created few Q Managers from the MQ Explorer. I am able to send messages between Q Managers.
When i start First steps and keep my mouse on Desault configuration itsays there is no TCP/IP configured on the system??
If there is no default config. how did i create QM'S and sent messages?????

Hi,
MQ supports TCP/IP, NetBIOS and SPX protocols on NT. Any of these protocols will allow intercommunication between qmgrs. What protocols do you have configured on your laptop?

Hi KIRANP,
I think You try to delete all the Queue Managers which you have created using the Command Prompt then go to First Step, choose the Default Configuration to Create a New Queue Manager, Just try this and do let us know whether this is working on not.
Note : Take this option as Try and Error.

Hi,
In Windows 2000, you can do with out having ip address assigned.
We experienced the same thing on the STandalone desktop using Windows 2000.
Find try to give a dummy ip to the system . The problem should be solved.
Try amqsget to put into queue which have transmission queue to another queue manager. If this works, then try with first steps.

From what I read, you were sending messages between different QMGRS on the "same" laptop.
Try sending a message to a remote system--another PC/server with a test QMGR installed.
For us, when we were creating test QMGRS for the development people, we really didn't release it to them until we verified that the QMGR was created properly--one of the things we checked out before releasing the QMGR was the abilty to send a test message to a remote system and vice versa.  |
