Hello ;
I need help to solve this issue. I have a Linux Server ( SLES - kernel 2.6 ), where I had just installed the WebSphere MQ v6.0.
It seems to create all objects fine, but I am not receiving the correct/confirmation message for most MQSC commands when I am running under mqm or mqsiusr, both in the mqm group. However, the root can execute those or some commands without receiving those kind of messages. I had tried to find the file for this message catalog, but I didn't find anything under /var/mqm or /opt/mqm. I don't know if there is something in other file system, which doesn't have the required permission...
Please, take a look on the message that I am receiving when I try to run the runmqsc CONFIG01_QM. I had also printed a piece of the log
wvidev01:/opt/mqm # su - mqm
mqm@wvidev01:~> runmqsc CONFIG01_QM
WebSphere MQ was unable to open a message catalog to display an error message for message id hexadecimal %6, with inserts %1, %2, %3, %4, and %5.

Hi
You haven't set the file permission perfectly on linux system
you have to set it to 555.
There is a catalog file called amq.cat, just ensure that it got installed.
For more information check the below site.

Thanks and Regards

The message catalogs are:
/usr/share/locale/<localename>/LC_MESSAGES/amq.cat
The C locale is installed by default and symlinks are created to it for english language variations ( en , en_GB etc ).
Check the permissions on this file and the directories in its path.
Check that the locale you are using has a corresponding amq.cat. _________________ Philip Morten
