Am running business critical applications which use MQ services. I have this frequent problem of recycling the whole stuff namely MQ Manager as well as application, whenever MQ Manager hangs or crashes. The issue here is the time taken to recover. Basically am looking for best possible way to make MQ outages transparent to applications.

Can MQ Clusters address this issue.

No.

HA clusters can.

Which operating system do you have?

Which version of MQ do you use?

Which CSD do you have installed?

It maybe, that a QMgr hangs or crashes, but this should not be a "frequent problem" as you describe. I guess, you have some other problem!

What happens, when a QMgr hangs or crashes? Are the networks available? What's about the disk usage? Are the transaction logs big enough?

What tell the MQ error logs (in /var/mqm/errors and /var/mqm/qmgrs/your_qmgr/errors) and do you have any *.FDC files (in /var/mqm/errors)?

HA clusters are able, to restart MQ and the connected applications, but they also cannot address some serious problems on your systems!
