I observed a very large AMQERR01.LOG file on a Solaris box, the size was over 1GB . I tried to detect the root of the problem and I found a lot of FFST entries, like this:

Of course, the patch level is obsolete and I don't think it should be a special case, BUT... Why do the 'Comment' lines content some AS/400 specific information?

Thanks in advance,

Perhaps a vestige of the heritage of distributed MQ (Mayflower)?

Wayne,

Anyway, the error message is not correct, because I can remove and / or rename the AMQERR0*.LOG files as mqm user.

There is not possible to stop a production queue manager Moreover I'm afraid of restarting the queue manager on this box because there is exists a conflict on this configuration: Solaris + LDAP + MQ 5.3. IBM provide a fix for it in the CSD12 (link) But this will be another story...
