I have a strange one here..

I am seeing some error messages in the fmcsys.log file that don't make any sence to me. At first glance the error messages seem to point at the classic "Runstats Rebind" problem, but The funny thing is I do a runstats rebind every night. I check for error messages in the bind logs and they all say RC = 0. The runstats rebind script logs don't show any errors either. So, lastly I did a reorg on the database thinking that may clear up the problems, but no luck. Performance is really bad on this configuration and I am runnig out of things to try. I have opened up a PMR with IBM but thought I would post the problem here anyway. Does anyone have any idea on what may be causing this message to show up in the logs.

Dave:

Yep... pretty strange.

I did notice that w/ sp5 on 3.4 MQWF has started to put messages into fmcsys.log indicating that you should do Runstats and Rebind. Probably not your issue... what version of MQWF are you running on this?

Hi John

We are running 3.4 with sp 3. Yeah, I thought it was strange too. I don't see any error messages in the db2diag.log either.. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

Strange..

I found an extra package bound to the database. It's called FMCIMREF and it's not found in any of my other runtime databases. Below is a quote from my DBA when I asked him to check the bind dates against the stat dates.

SELECT MAX(STATS_TIME) FROM SYSIBM.SYSTABLES = 06/02/2004 12:52:12.849302 AM

SELECT MIN(LAST_BIND_TIME) FROM SYSIBM.SYSPLAN
WHERE BOUNDBY = 'FMCRET' = 06/02/2004 12:52:28.105007 AM

The packages contained are listed below. The FMCIMREF package, bound by FMC is not found in other Workflow databases, and is not bound by the Workflow Bind job. I bound it manually today, but it had a bind date of months ago.

Any updates on this post?
I am also encountering the exact logs.

MQWF ver. is 3.5.0.50

But MQ Series packages are having varied versions, like some of the packages are having 5.3.0.2 while others are 5.3.0.11 then there are some MQ series internet gateway packages which are at 5.2.0.0!

Is this causing some problems? Pls advise?

Amit,

have you ever read ANY book that comes with MQ Workflow?
I doubt.
Have you tried fmczutil to do a runstat / rebind?
If yes, does the message still show up?
If yes, we can continue to talk about your problem.

Hos,

The Runstats and Rebind are done every night and the server is also running fine. Those messages are still being logged everyday althought it does not make any impact on server performance.

But I'll rather go through some MQ pdf's rather than interacting with you. A Master needs to be humble along with being knowledgable.
