Anyone can say me which are the kernel parameters that I need to set on Sun Solaris 10 for the Websphere MQ installation ?

Many thanks in advance,

This Manual is on line ? Because I have a manual for the installation of MQ v5.3 (amqdac06.pdf) and the parameters that appears on this manual are for Solaris 8, some of these aren't necessary for Solaris 10, for example seminfo_semopm (now default value= 512) and seminfo_semmsl (default value = 512).

Best regards,

Luz Marina

You'll find all the manuals (for all the versions) at:

http://www-306.ibm.com/software/integration/wmq/library/library6x.html

Even if the values now default, it's still worth checking the defaults are suitable. I know with other flavours of UNIX the values of some parameters need to be increased (especially semaphores).

Happy Reading!

Thank you, but these manuals are fore MQ v. 6.0 , however with the maual of Sun Mycrosystems about the Solaris System Tuning for Solaris 10, I could see which parameters have been removed and the new default value for the others; you have right the importants parameters are those related with semphores and share memory.

Best regards,

Luz Marina

You'll find the 5.3 manuals at the same location - there's a tab at the top of the page.
