How are members given the titles of Newbie, Apprentice, Acolyte, Journeyman, Master, and Grand Master? Is it based solely on number of posts?

Yes... It doesn't really mean anything; it certainly doesn't provide any insight as to the quality of that person's posts

I don't remember for sure, but I think the rankings come after 25, 50, 100, 200, and 500 posts...
