The data source name was changed on the ODBC driver and was incorrect. And the following sequence of events happened in event viewer.

Database error: SQL State ''IM002''; Native Error Code '0'; Error Text ''[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified''.

Execution group using process '7076' thread '2664' stopped

The data source name was corrrected in 5 minutes. And we see taht the exceution group was started after 45 minutes by itself.

Questions:

1. We did not configure any pub/sub, and I dont understand why we see pub/sub related erroros in the log.

2. why would the execgroup go down when the data source name is invalid.

3. Why did it take so long for the exceution group to come up.

Any answers please ...

this may be because the incorrect odbc configuration was preventing the broker from accesing its own tables (needed for its internal processing)... the pub/sub error does not mean you have configured pub/sub .. it is internal to the broker ..

after correction of the datasource name i believe you should have re-started the broker .. otherwise it should not have been effected at all..
