Hi,

after changing some of our z/Os queuemanagers from Version 5.3 to Version 6.0, a user reported errors with ReasonCode 2046.
The users are using a program on WinXP originally written in C++ by colleagues who have left the office in the meantime.
This program tries to connect to the z/Os queuemanager via a Client-Server-Connection Channel.
When debugging, I found the Option MQCNO_FASTPATH_BINDING, which the MQ V6 seems not to like.
When I comment this option out, both Version 5.3 and 6.0 don't fail.
So I can change the program(s) and distribute the changed version to the people who are using it.
Now my problem: The systems engineer wants to upgrade the production queuemanagers at the end of the next week, but I'm not shure to get through to all of the users until then. So, my question is: is it possible to adjust the queuemanager in the meantime so it doesn't complain about the Fastpath Binding Option and ignores it, like the queuemanager V5.3 seems to do?

Thanks in advance
Heinz-Willi

You should check your coding methods in the application to make sure how the options are being passed. You could be using a method that results in an invalid parameter pointer. Or, make sure how the options word is being populated. If the code is adding options together, as opposed to doing a logical OR, there is a danger that the same option could be added twice (or more) and throw the whole thing off.

Just for information: IBM support in the meantime has delivered a patch to overcome the problem, so the V6 behaves in the same manner as the V5.3 concerning the Fastpath binfing Option.
