This is a newbie request for any and all pointers to the ways of porting an MQ client application from Linux to USS on z/OS.
We have MQ 5.3 installed on a z/OS 1.6 machine, and on a z/OS 1.6 FLEX-ES emulator. I have a client installed on Linux, and a small application running with the queue manager on z/OS. What do I have to do to make this application work on the USS side of the z/OS systems. Namely:
1. Do I have to install MQ client for USS separately from the MQ server already installed on z/OS?
2. Every time the documentation mentions the ways to develop and build applications for various platforms, it talks only about the MVS app development on z/OS, but says nothing about USS. Any pointers?
3. If anyone had any personal experience with that problem, I would greatly appreciate hearing about it.
4. AFAIK, MQ API is thread-safe on Linux, but not on z/OS (MVS). What about USS?
Thanks in advance,

Take a look at other, more recent MQ USS posts. This subject is covered pretty well there. |

Just run it on zLinux, don't bother porting it. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
