A silent installation is another term for an unattended installation. Full details are available in the Quick Beginnings manual. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
Insanity is the best defence.
If you have a spare machine you can do a manual install with the option to record a response file. You can then manually edit the response file to make any necessary changes you want, then invoke silent install on other machines (I'm assuming WinTel here).
If you are using Win AD you can also create a WizParm file (which can be encrypted) to feed in the details of domain, user and password.
As has been stated the QB Guide gives full details and a skeleton response file is created on the install of WMQ, I just find it easier to do the first install manually (unless it is near as damn the same as one I already have) and the rest silently.
Hope this helps. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys.
