Hello,
I am installing a MQSeries for a test, and due to security reasons, I cannot install it and grant it access to Active Directory.
The problem is that I cannot access the MQServer remotely for administration with my domain user. I try to put this domain user in the mqm and Administrators local group (on my client and server system), but it doens't work. If on both system, I create a user account with same name and add it the local group mqm and Administrators, it works.
Does anyone have an idea to help me on this?
Many thanks in advance.
Best regards. |

Hi
(I cannot install it and grant it access to Active Directory.)
Did you install the MQ Series Server and client, which user id you are using, is it under mqm domain.
how you are trying to connect

Hello,
I have the MQSeries server on a Windows Server 2003. During the install, I set to not use AD as authentification method.
Now I am trying to connect with my professional laptop to the server using WebSphere MQ Explorer. On my laptop, I connect using my domain account.
If I define the same local user on both and add it to the mqm group, it works. If I add my domain account to the local mqm group, it doesn't work.
I hope all those details helps you. Basicly, my question is what do I have to do to allow my domain user to connect to MQSeries server with WebSphere MQ Explorer ?
I hope this helps to understand my problem.
Thanks in advance. |

Have a look at this thread:
http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=33012
Which covers the issue pretty much and will help you resolve the issue. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

If you want security, then use entirely local users and put SSL on every channel, use appropriate certificates to authenticate users & machines and use the MCA user on the SVRCONN channel to authorize users and machines.
Nothing else short of a Channel Exit is going to be secure. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
