We have MQ 5.3 installed on Sun Solaris (or suppose any other Unix box such as AIX, HP-UX etc.,). Now i want to upgrade the software to 6.0.

Can I install MQ 6.0 software on top of 5.3, so that it will replace the old files with the new ones? Or is there a different process to do so?

I really appreciate if you briefly tell me some points for upgrading the MQ version from 5.3 to 6.0. Any reference to sites will be greatly appreciated.

Start with the MQ Information Center.

Hi

You have to unistall MQ V5.3 and its related CSD at first,

Then you can install MQ V6.0 and its refresh pack

Please go through the migration docs before doing it.
