I am trying to install the 6.0.1.1 toolkit on a windows box that currently has RAD 6.0.0.1 installed and getting this exception during the install.

PFaulkner's problem, most likely, was that they were trying to install 6.0.1.1 Toolkit onto a machine with an earlier version of RAD already installed. If pfaulker had updated that RAD to 6.0.1.1ish, then likely it would have succeeded to install Toolkit onto that machine.
I think we don't have enough information about your particular problem to help yet. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Sorry I should have updated the forum with the fix.
I opened a PMR and IBM recommended the following:
1) Backup and edit the cdi_ref.properties file and remove the line:
c_webt_shared.products=wmbt
2) Uninstall their RAD installation
3) Check to see that the cdi_ref.properties file is removed.
If so, delete the RAD and Message Brokers Toolkit V6 install
directories.
4) Reinstall RAD6.0 and bring it back up to the RAD 6001 level
- Keep track of whether Language Pack option was selected when install
RAD6.0
5) Run the MB Toolkit V6 install again and when presented the option
of Language Packs, match what was selected for RAD. If RAD had no
Language Packs, then MB 60 should have no Language Packs (deselect) and
vice versa.
Steps 2) to 4) may be optional but if the user can do that, it would
ensure a working installation. There is a Rational defect about
uninstall that affects all Rational and shell shared products (including
Toolkit) and we are following up for workarounds/fixes. User may be
affected by this issue and to not hold them up, steps 2) to 4) can be
performed.
In our case, uninstalled RAD was not an option. I did step 1, and everything worked.
Hope this helps |

cdi_ref.properties file is in location C:\WINDOWS\IBM\RAC60\.sdpinst & size is 0 bytes. Means, property file is empty. What should I do? |
