I know in general there are differences between Application adapters & Technology ones,
pertaining to Oracle (App) and JDBC (Tech) with Oracle database, Is there any funcationality that both have differences??
any pointing to differences between application and technology adapters is appreciated

I think Oracle Apps is like SAP or PeopleSoft or something that falls into that category. On the other hand Oracle Database is an RDBMS. So comparing those two products or the adapters for those two products doesn't make sense. I might be wrong about what Oracle App is, but I think I made the point clear about Tech adapters and App adapters. |

hmm!!.. I wud say Yes & No, - Technology adapter (JDBC) can connect to any RDBMS which supports JDBC and Oracle App. being one,
and Oracle App itself has one Application adapter, as per my knowledge operations wise we can achieve pretty much same functions, as both uses, event tbl mechanism, (hope I'm not missng anything)
or are they specific operations tht Oracle adapter can do with Oracle RDBMS which JDBC adapter cannot ?
as I see Oracle App is the only one where we go for either technology or application adapters,
any pointings are appreciated

I dont see any difference between the two(as far as processing and BO definitions are concerned). May be there is a pricing difference and IBM can aswer that. _________________ -Ratan |

wrf to Adapter for Oracle doc, the Adapter is a meta data driven, so will this any way be advantage of JDBC adapter ?
I understand the metadata concept, but pertaining to operations with database, would there be any advantages ?
any pointings are appreciated.
Thanks
