Jeff, are you saying that if we use client library 5.3, MQ verions should not be lower than 5.3 CSD 11?
What we are trying to do is to update MQ on one box(A)(currently MQ version on 5.2), another box(b)(MQ version on 5.0). We have current mq client library 5.1 talking to box A and B, but if we trying to upgrade MQ on box A to version 6.0 while Box B still running on Mq version 5.0, In order for this to work, we will need to upgrade client libary to 5.3, but we are not going to upgrade MQ on Box B. Our developer just downloaded MQ client library 5.3 and confirmed it is working with MQ version 5.0. So for box B, we are not going to do anything right now except to upgrade the client library. |

Yes, pretty much do not use any version of MQ v5.3 that is less than CSD 11. There are some particularly contact admin bugs in CSDs 8 and 9 (in the link I referenced) that will cause problems.
If you're installing a new v5.3 - which, essentially, you are - then you should really go straight to CSD 12 anyway.
