Hi guys,
I installed WMQ 6.0 on Windows 2003 platform today in my company. When I am preparing MQ for default configuration (in 6.0 it asks for default cluster and default queue manager to be created) unfortunately this is failed to me, which means i was not able to configure the MQ for default configuration.
But when i login with my userid, i am able to create queue manager, queues etc., Does this mean that the MQ has been installed correctly? My log files doesn't show any error.
But there is one more issue here, when i logout from the system and come back in, my queue manager shows Ended (i left it started when i logged out previosly)
Can anyone explain what does this mean about MQ?Does it need to be re-installed or is it fine?
I really appreciate any responses to this mail.
Thank you |

Check that the userId for the service got created fine with the required priviledges. It looks like it is running under your userId and lacking priviledges and group membership...
Best bet is to rerun the wizzard. You can always get rid of the default qmgr/cluster afterwards...

If your machine is in an active direcotry domain, you need to configure the MQ dcom object to run under a domain userid which has been granted delegate authority. See the windows quick beginnings on how to do this.
If you dont, ANY windows MQ process launched from the command line, such as strmqm etc will be terminated (killed) when the user logs off, and this includes the queue manager, channels etc. If you need to start a qmgr from the command line (once you fix the services issue) use amqmdain start <qmgrname>. |
