Hi, our WF Server is using Workflow 3.4 / WMQ 5.3.05 on HP-UX 11i, and our WF Webclient is Workflow 3.4 / WMQ 5.3.05 on Solaris 8. When trying to log into the Webclient, we get "no connection to workflow server possible" (because of the problem described below)
For some reason, neither our Server or Webclient QM are in the Cluster anymore, and the real issue is that I can't seem to get the Server QM to become the Repository. There were 15 messages stuck in the SYSTEM.CLUSTER.REPOSITORY.QUEUE, and after bouncing the QM there are 2...I've brought down the Webclient QM and also the Workflow Server, but something still has it open and won't let me clear the messages. I'm not sure if these messages are even the problem. I've done "alter qmgr repos(FMCENV2)" and bounced it out of desperation but I knew that wouldn't solve the problem.
Is there something else I can do, besides running fmczutil and deleting and recreating the Workflow Server config/Runtime DB/QM ? Thanks for any help. |

Did you check the cluster repos variable is there, in the right case ?
I usually do the alter qmgr repos('MYCLUSTER') this way...
Check as well all the cluster channels. Do they contain the right information in the cluster field.
Is the conname in the clusrcvr channels reachable from all parts of the cluster? If not (typical of IP spanning firewalls) you need to use DNS or /etc/hosts tpc routing techniques so that the name in conname is reachable/ip routable from all points in the cluster.
Did you check the repository? Is one of the members in the repository twice with different qmgr Ids ?
Have fun _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

unfortunately, all of those things check out.
I guess maybe the only way to make a QM a repository is when you create the Configuration via fmczutil? Doesn't seem like this is possible from Explorer/runmqsc.
When I try to join the WF Server QM to a cluster, it asks for the repository QM name and then gives me a (probably valid) error that they cannot have the same name. |

If you are suspicius about the QM and like to recreate QM only, you can do it using fmczutil. That way, you don't need to remove the entire WF configuration.
Thanks,
