I am trying to install WBIMB 5.0 on Windows XP Home Edition (Personal Laptop) and am getting this warning about MDAC 2.7 and IBM Agent Controller 5.0.1
I did install these two prior to start installing WBIMB 5.0 and can see these two in Add/Remove Programs too. However during the installation of WBIMB, I get a warning that these two are unresolved dependencies.
Unresolved dependency: Agent Controller Prerequisite has an
unresolved dependency on Agent Controller Version 5.0.1.
Unresolved dependency: MDAC Prerequisite has an unresolved
dependency on Microsoft Data Access Component Version 2.7 SP1.
I have two questions now.
1. How to fix this before proceeding with installation of WBIMB?
2. Can I ignore the warning and go ahead with WBIMB installation? In this case does it affect in development and deployment?
Can someone please help me?
Thank You |

MQ is not supported on XP Home.
You can ignore these dependancy warnings. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Thank You jefflowrey.
You are so quick in responding. So ignoring this warning shouldn't affect development and deployment or anything else in future.. right? |

The readme file specifies that you can igonore these warnings. The warnings have no effect on the software that is being installed. However, as Jeff mentioned earlier, WBI-MB is unsupported on XP. |

Yap, I guess the simple answer is ignore the warning messages. We have have used this for a long time to develop message flows and always ignored the warnings. We even deploy the message flows developed to other supported environments like Unix AIX and it works fine. |

XP Home, not XP Professional.
But I don't know for sure about v5. It's better to double-check these things against the system requirements page. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I know Ignoring RA affects the flow debugging, what function (s) is affected by not installing MDAC? |

The MDAC error is usually wrong. It's usually got a higher version installed, and the installer thinks that it's not installed. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
