You get paid?

I just get 3 bits of bread a day & all the water I can drink. Still, better than the operators - they just get peanuts.....

Because it's a question with no answer, except as sebastianhirt alluded to "never enough". I can only speak for the UK but it depends on area, skills, negociating abilities, available budget, level of employer desperation, size of competing labour base, etc, etc. I was recruited to the same job as the guy next to me but 4 months later & his rate is 16% higher (I worked it out!). Go figure...

Same for house prices (though employer desperation on comes into play for relocation packages).

Certainly it's uncommon for it to be splattered over a public bb!

(Unless you're Tiger Woods, Richard Branson or the Duke of Westminster. Not certain if any of them have MQ certification though...)

Asking people to give their personal income is, well - too personal. But RANGES - well, here is my feeling, for "permanent" employees, for a "standard", 2-4 years experience, not for some super-hot skill, programmer/support person type of role, for what I have seen of the job market:

Switzerland (fairly confident, salaries I've heard about) - $56k - $100k a year
UK [London] (I'm a bit rusty here, according to Jobserve) - $45 - 95k a year?
US (Even more out on a limb here) - $60-100k year??

The Swiss and London ranges look remarkably similar (Actually all THREE look similar so maybe they're worthless). Seeing as accommodation costs in Zurich and London are similar too, that perhaps makes sense.

My $0.02

Have you thought about looking at some head hunters websites and seeing what they are offering?

Asking how much someone gets paid is (IMHO) a little rude and not likely to get any takers.

As others have said, it also depends on location. House prices vary, my house would be worth a lot more in Los Angeles than it is here, but it would be worth a lot less if it were stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Maybe you would have more success posting a poll with ranges specified?Like $1000-$2000, $2000-$3000 etc.

I got my CH and UK figures from there (www.jobserve.com, perhaps the most popular UK/pan-european job site).

Kevinf2349, perhaps you could suggest a good US job site to search?

Try Dice.com or Hotjobs.com

There used to be a site that would do location comparisons too but I can't recall the name of it at the moment. It would tell you what you would need to earn if you moved to a different area to maintain your current lifestyle....pretty scary sometimes!

kevinf2349, you're thinking of homefair.com.

What I have seen, annual salary ranges for MQAdmins in U.S. vary by region and whether you travel or not. Entry level south east is roughly $60K no travel, with experience $80K to $95K, with travel $95K and up depending on amount of travel. West coast is more due to high cost of living as is NYC, DC, etc...

http://cgi.money.cnn.com/tools/costofliving/costofliving.html

This site would just give information based on current salary and location against the potential future location.
