Is is possilbe to change the default from 500 messages to a higher number. We have a queue that we put long running transactions on and at times it get above 500 during CICS problems and the Explorer is stopping me at the first 500 messages. I am using V6

No. You will need to use other tools like MQMon or MQ Visual Edit.
