Hi all,

I am a 5 yr exp in JAVA/J2EE professional, I am into EAI products for the past couple of months. I just want to continue my carrier with EAI, How far this is will help me in the Carrier Aspects.

Vivek,

After the seven years that I have been involved in EAI, this is the unmistakeable maxim: integration between systems will ALWAYS be in need. However, the current trend is towards SOA and web services, rather than strictly EAI. With a J2EE background, you will be well-placed for this, I think -- focus instead on web services in J2EE. EAI itself is very gritty work -- legacy systems are usually not pretty, and they don't have nice interfaces (think green-screen rather than eclipse). this is the bulk of work that integration tackles, at least in my experience.

I think the big challenge in the coming years in EAI will be integrating siloed J2EE applications.
