Hi Everyone,

I was trying to connect to Queue managers on AS/400 from Windows Explorer. But I am not succeeded in doing this.As far as I know to connect to remote Qmgr there should be a SYSTEM.ADMIN.SVRCONN Channel etc...should be defined. But I am sure that there is no channel defined like that in our system.

Can anyone suggest me Is this the only problem stopping me to connect to Qmgr on AS/400.

Can anyone suggest me any other way to connect to AS/400 Qmgr?

Regards
Babu

1. You need that channel defined
2. You need to have a listener running
3. You need to have the command server running
4. You need to have the proper authorizations setup for the channel / queues / commands ....

Essentially, what Wayne gave is enought. If your mq explorer is of version 6.0 you need to define a model queue in the remote system. The following link gives the details what you need to connect to the remote mq queue manager.

Hi Jeevan,

Thanks for your reply.
Please tell me that where should I create those channels.
You mean to say that I should create SERVER CONN channel on AS/400 QMGR.

Please let me know in detail as I am very much new to this Technology.

Regards,
Babu

Hi ,

Thanks for the reply.
But I am using MQ 5.3 version not 6.0.

Does this set up will work for MQ 5.3 version also?

Your reply for this will be very much appreciated.

Regards
Babu

For what you need to do, it would work, but here's the V5.3 SAG:
