We have designed a msg flow for E-Mail and Fax operations in Message Broker v6.0. and added Exceptional handling with try/catch technique.

Now we are working on post-processing of messages after they reached failure queues.

As we planned for Java Monitoring tool for deleting expiry messages in IN/OUT/FAILURE queues, re-triggering some messages in FAILURE queues after de-bugging etc.

Here I need to get from you that what kind of operations we need do here etc. Please throw more light in this area.

thanks
-Tom

That's quite easy: It depends on your application requirements

Enjoy

IMHO, there are two types of failures:

1. A failure as a result of a system problem (ie, data-base unavailable...), in that case, your messages should be saved "as-is" so they can be replayed when the problem is fixed..

2. A failure because the message itself is bad ... in which case you need to go back to the message producing application and fix it. Its likely that the message is useless (except for problem determination)....

but FJ is correct, what exactly are your "failure recovery" requirements?
