STRMQM hogging all the resources

I noticed a machine with mq series running extremely slow, when I looked into the taskmgr, STRMQM was steadily hogging more memory, what would cause this???

We'll need quite a bit more detail to diagnose this. Once the queue manager is running, strmqm shouldn't even be a running process anymore.
Some questions:
1. Was the queue manager responsive, i.e., could applications connect to it?
2. Had the queue manager recently been started? If so, why was it stopped?
3. Were there any FDCs generated?
4. What did the MQ logs say?
5. What other MQ-related processes were running in the taskmgr?
