I was trying to install WMB 6.0 on aix.. I connected through telnet..the code was downloaded and copied to the AIX Server. Java was installed at 1.4.2...all the requirement looks good. But when I run 'setupaix' (graphic mode' or 'setupaix -console' (console mode). I see the following:
" InstallShield Wizard
Initializing InstallShield Wizard...
Searching for Java(tm) Virtual Machine...
.
Preparing Java(tm) Virtual Machine...
..................................
...................................
......................"
Then the process just stopped and hung in there..nothing happened..
Does anyone know how to solve this issue? |

Not sure if it will help, by setting setting:
export JAVA_COMPILER=none
before starting the install _________________ -wayne |

Have you started your X-Windows and exported the DISPLAY variable ?
I think that is what your problem is |

It looks like the launcher, which unpacks a temporary JRE to run the install wizard, is having some problem. You can get a log for this part of the install process using the -is:log option.
A couple of problems that might arise during this phase are:
* Insufficient disk space for the launcher
* Launcher cannot install or run the temporary JVM
If disk space is the issue, either free up enough space in your system's temporary directory, or start the launcher using the -is:tempdir option.
If there's a problem using the bundled JVM you could try the -is:javahome option to use a system JVM.
Hope that helps. |
