Is MQ Explorer supported with just the MQ Client in version 6?
I tried this combiniation and get an AMQ4059 (which I'm looking up now).

If anyone has gotten this to work, I would like to know how.

You can use and install the MQ Explorer (Eclipse based, V6) on a client machine and use this to create remote connections to queue managers.

AMQ4059 means you are not able to establish a connection to the remote queue manager.

There are several possible things..

1) Ensure there is a listener running on the remote queue manager, on the port that you specified. And that there are no firewalls getting in the way

2) Ensure that the channel you are connecting to exists (by default the explorer use SYSTEM.ADMIN.SVRCONN)

3) Ensure that you have appropriate permissions, either your logged on user id is authorised on the remote queue manager, or the MCAUSER on the channel is set to an authorised user (eg. mqm)

4) Ensure that the model reply queue is created on your queue manager:
SYSTEM.MQEXPLORER.REPLY.MODEL, and that any connecting user is authorised to put to that queue.

Or something else.. but those 4 would be a good starting point.

The issue was permissions.

This works. I installed:
- WebSphere MQ Client V6
- Eclipse Tooling 3.0.1 (whatever was on the MQServer CD)
- WebSphere MQ Explorer V6 (from the MQServer CD)
