Is there an option to get BOQNAME ( Backout Queue Name )and BOThresh (Backout Threshold) of the target queue by doing an inquiry of the alias qname. Or do I have to get the targq of the alias queue first and do an inquiry again against the local queue . Any thoughts ?

Alias queues do not support BOQNAME or BOThresh. Hence, you need to inquiry against the local queue for those attributes.
