Sorry folks but the site went down again for a short amount of time today. This time, you can thank the heatwave we're having in California for causing blackouts, and apparently when the diesel backup generator at my datacenter started up, it caught fire and exploded so all the servers went down.
What amazes me is that MySpace, by some measures the most trafficked internet site in the world went down for several hours earlier this week because their datacenter is in Los Angeles (like mine) and amazingly they didn't have redundant servers in some other location. What do they plan on doing when the Big One hits and Los Angeles slides into the ocean?

Does this mean that if LA slides into the ocean mqseries.net is doomed (or at least wet)?
A Californian earthquake will clearly be a bigger disaster than I first thought..... 
I can picture the scene - the world's press commenting on the devistation (i.e. more water), rescue workers picking people out of the water and to one side, a group of MQ professionals in scuba gear organising a salvage opperation.
With the Grand PooBah directing how the cables are strung & which way the tanks should be strapped on!
