Hi experts,
I installed MQSeries V 5.3 and Integrator(WMQI) V 2.1. I installed DB2 V 8.1 Enterprise edition successfully, but when I open the control center of DB2 to create the Databases I am getting an error.
The error is as follows:
"CBOEHNKE" does not have the authority to perform the requested
command.
Explanation:
The user attempted to execute a command or operation without
having the proper authority for that command or operation.
The command cannot be processed.
Federated system users: this situation can also be detected by
the data source.
User Response:
Log on as a user with the correct authority and retry the failed
command or operation. Correct authorities may include SYSADM,
SYSCTRL, SYSMAINT, and DBADM. DBADM is granted on databases and
all other authorities are determined by membership in the groups
defined in the database manager configuration (eg. if
sysctrl_group in the database manager configuration file is
defined as 'beatles', then you must belong to the group 'beatles'
to have SYSCTRL authority). Refer to the Command Reference or
the SQL Reference for the listing of required authorities for the
attempted command or operation.
If you are using Kerberos authentication in a Windows
environment, ensure that you log on to the machine using a domain
account. Only domain users can use Kerberos authentication in a
Windows 2000 environment.
If you are using LDAP support, ensure that you or the DB2
Connect gateway has the authority to perform the CATALOG DATABASE,
NODE and DCS DATABASE commands. Invoke the command "UPDATE DBM
CFG USING CATALOG_NOAUTH YES" at the client or the gateway to
correct the problem.
Federated system users: if necessary isolate the problem to the
data source rejecting the request (see the problem determination
guide for procedures to follow to identify the failing data
source) and ensure that the authorization id specified has the
proper authority on that data source.
Contact the System Administrator for authority request
assistance. Do not attempt to execute the command without
appropriate authorization.
Do I need to contact the Helpdesk or is it a problem while installation?. Please provide me some more information regarding this problem.
Thanks.

Your user is not a db2 admin for the install you made.
Also, please don't use MQSI 2.1. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Hi there,
I was just browsing through a few posts and saw your recommendation above about MQSI 2.1 Why do you recommend not to use this version?
Simply because its going out of support or for some other reason? We currently have a system running as Chris has described above and it seems to be grand (for the moment). |

Not only is it going out of support, it's not really compatible with modern requirements.
You can not support XML Namespaces with MQSI 2.1 - so you can't support even basic Web Services. You can't do HTTP interactions with 2.1 - so, again, no web services.
When a product is out of support, new fix packs aren't produced. So any bugs you find are going to require significant expenditures of time and money on your part to get IBM to fix.
Also, 2.1 is just plain old. The eclipse Tooling is vastly superior to the 2.1 Control Center. The performance of the v6 runtime is also vastly better.
2.1 is simply not safe for production anymore. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
