Hi,
I explore following scenario. There are two business object, one the ASBO the other one act as GBO. A map act between the ASBO and GBO. Then I rename one field in the ASBO to provoke a mapping inconsistency. From my point of view the map is invalid, an other perspective will say the BO is invalid, no matter.
I could deploy the user project to the ICS even though the map and the BO was no longer suitable. How do you ensure in your projects that this inconsistency never happen.
I select the option "perform compilation on ICS machine" on the deployment window of the system manager. But this had also no effect.
So again, how do you ensure in your projects that this inconsistency never happen.

Hi adapmxtor,
I believe there is a tab in the mapping wizard where we could import/export or provide values for the bo and run a test mapping. This should point out that there is mismatch.
If you are not involved in development and you wanted to know what happened, I guess checking the connector logs will tell you this.
Thanks |

Hi matrix_reader,
thanks for your reply. I'm involved in development and I now about the tabs in the map designer especially the test tab.
My question was more related to a development process where it could happen that different people distributed over the world change the components. When one part develop the ASBO and other ones the GBO and visa versa it could be very exhausting always to use a GUI tool to check if all is consistend. People make mistakes or overlook dependencies, that's humanly. A mapping between two BO's is a like a 'treaty' between the objects which could be systematically checked by the system whenever possible.
At latest I would expect that the ICS give me a message during the deployment (or afterwards) that these 'treaties' in our word MAP's are not consistent to the BO's! To wait till the first connection is not working and then analyse why, that's not a good quality approach and not acceptable by our customer's. So, is there another designated possibility to check this without the GUI tool? Any experiences from larger projects? Is the Integrated Test Environment the right tool to check this?
