We have the broker and configmgr (v 6.0) on HP-UX 11.11 and I have installed the IBM agent controller (v 6.0.1) and started it. I am having issues when I try to connect by attaching the debugger for debugging message flows from the Toolkit (v 6.0) on a windows XP box.
When I try to create a new configuration for the Message broker debug I get an error in the Host name field: Specified host can not be connected.
Thats not true as I am connected to the server and can also ping it. Also made sure that the Agent is started on port 10002 as specified.
Has anyone used the debugger on 6.0, any help is greatky appreciated. |

Try appending the HP UX machines IP/hostname to the "hosts" file under WINNT/system32 |

Could be a port problem.
Ensure that agent controller is running on the port (grep it) .
Then try a telnet to connect to the mahine from the toolkit machine.
If the port is not open to the toolkit machine you would not be able to reach it.
You being connected to the server does not necessarily mean that the port for agent controller is open to ur toolkit .
Try also to install fix pack 1 for toolkit (6.0 of course) and the interim fix pack 4 on top of that ...
we had some issues with agent controller which went away once this was done.
Hope it helps,
Regards,

We too have the same Issue..With the broker on the mainframe..
BUT Finally worked out after intsaaling in a separate Directory and Disable Security to Accept connections from All Agents.
My question is..
We are restricted to use Cretain ports on the mainframe..I have changed the Port number of the agent controller..BUT unable to specify the Port Number top the Debugger as The workbench do not display any Text Box to Key in the Port nUmber of the Agent Controller..
Pls Help |

Upgraded to Fix pack 1 on the toolkit re-started the RAServer but had no luck. Still the same issue. Made sure that the agent controller is listening on port 10002 and the same was set in the configuration too.
Noticed one thing though, whenever I create a New configuration under the Message broker debug the default host name would be localhost and an error that the "Specified host can not be connected". This error never goes away even if I change it to the correct server name nor the IP address and I can never debug.
Any ideas anyone ? |

there is an interim fix 4 to be installed on top of fix pack 1 (for toolkit). U should install that also and try.
We had the same issues and the interim fix 4 worked.

Thanks jbanoop. I installed the Interim fix pack but had no luck, still the same issue. Could be an issue with the Toolkit that I am using on Windows 2000 which is not supported. I will give it a try on XP. |
