Hi Folks:
I don't understand why should we "dmpmqlog":
1) If object of our system design is to pass data and do not retain any data in Queue at any time
2) We cannot stop QMGR, since application is running 7x24.
3) We are in circular log configuration
4) All transaction have committed
5) We have Backup of /var/mqm with open log files
Can anybody tell me reason to weekly stop the QM and dumplog?
Thanks,

There is no reason to run dmpmqlog.
Perhaps you should consider stopping the qmgr for a backup; a backup taken while the qmgr is running may be useless, and will not be supported by IBM if it is.
Additionally, in your configuration, with circular logging, you could lose msg data in the event of a hardware or media failure. _________________ MQSeries.net helps those who help themselves.. |
