Hi All,
I knew its another very basic doubt, I have defined one server connection channel and a client connection channel on the server side along with setting env variables as MQSERVER and MQCHLLIB on the SOLARIS machine, where MQ Server is being installed.
Now, my doubt is, after defining it, when I issue a start channel command, and then do the "dis chstatus<channel_name>"
It will throw me AMQ8420:Channel Status not found. which means that channel is inactive.
Where as I have almost the same configuration on another machine and its working fine. Does any body have an idea, where I could be wrong. I know its a very absurd question but I need the help..
thanks in advance.

You don't have to start SVRCONN or CLNTCONN channels. They will be started when an application connects to the qmgr. |

Yeah thats correct,
I did some experiment by writing a small stub..
what I find out is the server connection channel is displayed as inactive as always.. until its being used by any application..
when an application starts using it .. it will become "running" by itself..
there is no need to run it thru command or thru the MQ Explorer
Server Connection and Client connection just to allow applications, running across TCP/IP, to access a queue manager.
Thanks alot |
