Hi All,
I am running mq5.3 CSD 11 on AIX 5.2. The default CCSID for this is 819, I want to check if I can create a queue manager with CCSID 37 (Z/OS).
Regards,
Nand |

A CCSID 37 queue manager on a distributed system? Very unlikely that it works (big IMHO). But try it, than you will know.
But anyway. Why would you want to do that? |

sebastianhirt,
That's IMHO as well - the AIX box I have access to doesn't have the code page to support it. This of course is no indication that MrMQ doesn't have more code pages than me!
But again - why would you want to? What use is an AIX queue manager that speaks EBCDIC (37 is an EBCDIC page isn't it? ) _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I know its bit stupid to do that but the reason why we want to do it is that We cant configure our TDE adapter to stop converting the message.
Right now TDE adapter is converting the message which is written with MQMD = 37 on AIX which we dont want to happen. |

Sounds like you'd be better off looking at the TDE issue - I thought it just used MQ under the covers for data movement & conversion?
Still if you want to go for a queue manager with CCSID 37 on AIX go for it. As has been correctly mentioned before, once you've tried it you'll know if it works. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I'll bet Jeff's rum that you can't change the ccsid to 37 on an AIX machine. _________________ -wayne |

Well I had a little go & came up empty - but then I trust the configuration of this client's machines as far as I could throw them. While they were still bolted to the floor.
