We are trying to administer a z/OS mq from a PC.
All MQ is v 6.0 and "SYSTEM.ADMIN.SVRCONN" is defined at host.
The listener is at 1414, for sure.
We go to "Display queue managers", select "Add", enter the IP ...
But still the PC does not get to the MQ at host - error says "no connection"
or similar but I suspect on RACF ..
What user shall I use at PC (Guindous Server 2003) ?
Where shall I place the MVS password ???
Where can I find a specific LOG on the error ?
( I realy cant find it on PC ... and on Host ? )
Thanks. |

You need to use a userid on the PC that is defined to your security manager (RACF?) at the zOS side and has the proper authorities on that system. If you work with your zOS security folks, they should be able to tell you if lack of authority is really the problem. _________________ -wayne |

mr wschutz : i understand it is going to be a RACF problem.
My question is : where do I write the host password when administering the z/OS MQ from the PC (after I did a Windows logon with a userid that exists on z/OS) ????
I dont believe the windows logon is enough !!!
Cheers. |

you can easily verify if this is a RACF problem by looking into the log of the MSTR on z/OS.
do you have the client attach facility (CAF) installed on the z/OS? _________________ Regards, Butcher |

The Windows logon is what is passed. It's all that is passed, unless you have a security exit. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
