Do message broker certificates have to have an -alias tomcat, when generating a self signed certificate using keytool?

command:
keytool -genkey -keypass changeit -keystore c:\progra~1\IBM\MQSI\6.0\dummy-alias tomcat

Has anyone been successful specifying a different alias other than the default tomcat?

I don't know the answer to your question, but you can use GSKit that comes with MQ to create self signed certs.

Tested generating a self-signed certificate using a different -alias other than tomcat and it was finally successful.
