Hello All:
Situation-->
We have 2 z/OS mainframes. One is production and the other is a DR hotsite.
Both nodes have exact copies of QMgrA@prod. All prod MQ files are mirrored to hotsite.
We have all of our queue managers set up with QM specific files, ie QMgrACHIN, QMgrAMSTR, QMgrAZPRM, QMgrAINP2, etc.
When Prod fails, the hotsite will come up and QMgrA@hotsite will be doing work.
Problem -->
When the hotsite comes up, the sender channels are still terminating at prod network nodes. The requirement is that they should terminate at hotsite network nodes.
What I have done as stopgap to resolve problem -->
I have created a PDS on prod (that will be mirrored to hotsite) containing modified QMgrAINP2, where are sender channel defs are REPLACED with appropriate terminating node names.
Prior to starting QMGR@hotsite, I will copy the modified QMgrAINP2 into the PDS that QMgrA uses in prod.
I am assuming when the QM starts, it will replace all of the channel defs with the correct terminating node name.
Question(s) -->
Will this work?
Is there a better way to do this?
Is there a way to "conditionalize" the QMgrA@hotsite startup to look at DR files instead of prod file?
Thanks All |
