Looking through my MQ Info center, I have been unable to discover the underlying architecture for runmqsc. What channel (if it uses a channel) does it use? I am concerned that a possible security vulnerability may exist with the use of runmqsc.

runmqsc interacts directly with mq, it does not even use the commandserver

And if you want to avoid modifications done to a specific qmgr from somewhere in the network with a default path to and from said qmgr make sure you do not allow any default qmgrs in your network.
