How difficult was it to setup SSL in config: ZOS (1.4) & MQ Websphere (5.3) and using CA Associates ACF2 security package?

Hi all,
Sorry for such a generic post/survey but my bosses want a survey of answers from those who have done this or similar setups:
Background config:
ZOS 1.4 & MQ Websphere 5.3 (unknown what CSD level) and using CA Associates ACF2 security package.
Who has had problems setting up SSL (self-signed and/or public CA) in MQ to communicate with other QMGRS, be it in UNIX/ZOS/WIN environments and what kinds of problems, if any, did you have.
Are there any lessons learned you can point to (or add) on the MQSeries board?
--edit added another poll option, rephrased poll question--
