I don't know if "MQSeries Application Programming Guide" by IBM is available for free. All I know is I paid $45 for the hard copy. I am more than willing to give it to someone who can utilize it.

Does anyone know an alternate source for these where the link targets are the actual PDF files? For some reason, IBM put an HTML front end on these and you can't just right-click on them and select "Save Target As..." like you can for practically all other PDF downloads. Although this does call up the PDF viewer in the browser, when I attempt to do a "save copy" from inside acrobat on a manual of any size, it goes through the motions of copying and after 10 minutes or so, the site gives up on the download and gives a timeout error. The resultant saved file is corrupt and unusable.

Use the "Download Director" link. That way the broswer hi-jacking of the pdf doesn't take place.

Cheers,

It's only in my work environment that I have the problem. My systems at home have no problem with this. But, these individuals that set up our PC's and network could #$@% any system you gave them. I'm just trying to find a solution to it, as the other types of downloads that I mentioned work fine.

This does function, thanks. But in my environment, this is a slow procedure.

1) First you click on the manual that you want.
2) Then it takes 2 to 3 minutes (yes, minutes!!!) to come up with the Publication Information page for that particular manual. <yawn>
3) Then you need to select "Download Director" and then "Agree to terms.." before the director does its thing.
4) Then, you have to hit Back on your browser to go back to the list of manuals.

Then we repeat the above process for the next manual. If they had a list that would go into the directly into the Director, one could get some speed out of it. As, is..... <yawn>...

In practically all other IBM manual sites, you can just right-click and download from a nice list of manuals and you don't even need to leave the page that the list is on. I don't know what they were thinking or why it is just these that they did this with.

I just went out & bought the Websphere Redbook collection on CDROM from Vevante - not bad at $49.96, compared to buying all of the Redbooks in hardcopy.

As I have a $50 book budget for work....that's me done until next year
