When creating a new execution group on WBIMB broker version 6, does 'processor architecure' simply refer to the OS kernel that the broker is running on?
My broker runs on solaris 8:
isainfo -kv : 64-bit sparcv9 kernel modules
Its Sybase DB is version 12.5, also 64 bit.
While testing, a number of working 64 bit exec groups were working fine, I then had deployment issues with a particular 64 bit exec group, so I created a 32 bit group(desperation) and the same bar file deployed!!
Also if the broker DB is 64 bit, I'll need to use $MQSI_WORKPATH/odbc64.ini I think.
Thanks all. |

In v6 FP01, the processor architecture attribute is simply a 32 vs 64 bit flag.

Yes, I realise its a flag, but what mandates the use of one over the other?
Is it if the broker runs on a 64 bit operating system? If the broker DB is 64 bit?
Is there a performance gain for 64 bit execution groups?
Thanks. |
