Hi

We do have the Q Managers configured using cluster. Now, we are trying to remove the concept of cluster and hence, needs re-configuration of the Q Managers. Is there any means of renaming the existing Q Managers and then trying to re-create the same set of Q Managers without Cluster.
Kindly help me know the command for renaming the q managers.

Cheers
Ajith

Question - why not simply remove the queue managers from the cluster? Why do they need to be renamed?

You can't rename queue managers. You can backup their definitions and then recreate them with a new name and delete the original qmgr.

Can you please let me know how to back up the Q Manager??
Also, it would be helpful if you could let me know the procedures to remove the QManager from the Cluster as well.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Cheers

Backing up a queue manager is usually performed using the MS03 support pack, possibily using the MS63 pac to backup authorities (depending on the complexty of your security set-up). I would put it to you that if you're breaking up a cluster your current security will need to be redefined.

As to removing a qmgr from a cluster, you'll find the procedure laid out in the Cluster manual far more clearly & completely than I could hope to. It's available in the infocentre or at http://www.elink.ibmlink.ibm.com/public/applications/publications/cgibin/pbi.cgi?CTY=US&FNC=SRX&PBL=SC34658900

MS63 is obsolete, use amqoamd instead.

I knew that. It's such a shame I forgot all about it when I was typing.

Apologies for a misleading post.
