Today we restarted the machine in which ConfigMgr was running.
After restarting & starting broker we are getting error . I've checked the event log & it says
"( WBRKBK ) The broker made an unsuccessful attempt to access its database WBRKBKDB with userid db2admin.
The broker's database could not be accessed using the userid and password supplied.
Ensure that the database is running and that the userid and password are correct"
"( WBRKBK ) Database error: SQL State 'IM002'; Native Error Code '0'; Error Text '[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified'.
The error has the following diagnostic information: SQL State 'IM002' SQL Native Error Code '0' SQL Error Text '[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified
I've checked in ODBC datasource administrator & to my surprise there in no entry of broker database and i was shocked to see all the odbc drivers including IBM DB2 ODBC DRIVER missing.
without the drivers can't create a dsn entry for broker database and withoyt that broker won't run . |

Hi genius_in_making,
The driver files don't get deleted unless its a serious virus attack or some genius (not indicative to you but pun intended) deleted them.
Is there any other database running....I just want to be sure that all databases are un-accessible once the driver is lost.
You could try to get a copy of the driver file from another system and paste into your system directories....I guess it will be possible to find were the drivers are stored by default.
Last resort should be reinstall DB...Take a backup, should be possible....else you will lose the link to your Broker....bigger problems.
Regards. |

So you have a broker running on the same machine as the configmgr?
Or why did you mention the Configmgr?
If Windows lost track of the ODBC drivers - then something drastically changed in the OS - maybe the machine got booted in 'safe' mode or something?
You need to work with your System Admin's to understand what changed.
You can try using Add/Remove programs to see if you can "Repair" the installation of WMB. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
