Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to provide instructions to a system admin to load MQ 5.3 on an HP9000. This is our first MQ install on an HP server, and the documentation is a little unclear. We're installing from downloaded files from IBM. For the base install, I have the following:

swinstall –s /usr3/software/MQ5.3/hpux11/mqs530.v11 MQSERIES

For fixpack 12, the following:

swinstall –x autoselect_dependencies=false –s /usr3/software/CSD12/hp-U803577.v11.nogskit MQSERIES.U803577

Does anyone with HP install experience see anything I may be missing, or have incorrect? Appreciate any expert advice. Thank you!!

I just did this on HP/UX for the the first time. In spite of what it says in the Quick beginings guide I used swinstall -i /path/to/install/filename.

Tab or arrow keys moves you around
Enter displays the dropdowns
Use space & m to select which filesets you want installed.

If you use the swinstall syntax in the Quick beginnings guide you will end up install all the foreign language filesets.
