Hello all, I am trying to setup MQ triggering for Websphere MQ V.6 on Server 2003.

If I put a message to a queue with a Process Definition and Initiation Queue,
It does not put a message to the designated Initiation Queue(SYSTEM.DEFAULT.INITIATION.QUEUE)

I have setup the service to runmqtrm, I have verified it is running in Task Manager.

It is my understanding that the initiation queue put should be before the runmqtrm process anyway.

Can anyone offer suggestions where I could start?

Thanks

Tomz.

You can't tell if a message is put or not if the trigger monitor is running, because it will consume the message almost immediately.

Conversely, if the INITQ is not open for input (i.e., the trigger monitor is not running), then MQ will not put a trigger message on the queue.

So you can't tell anything about what's going on by trying to look for a trigger message on the INITQ.

Stop the service and run the trigger monitor manually from a DOS window. There is a lot of output that is very helpful for error resolution that will be generated this way that you won't have access to if you run the trigger monitor as a service.

Enjoy

Yes, try running runmqtrm directly...

I did a liltle example long time ago, you can have a look: http://mrmq.dk/triggering.htm

There is also some other articles about triggering.

This one might also lead to some security issues, what about having runmqtrm running as root and a command: xterm .....
Example was described long tijme ago...
