The fact that you are not getting anything written to fmcsys.log shows that there is some kind of problem. Also, the fact that you have no fmcemain running is a problem. I still suspect that there is some type of permission issue. _________________ John McDonald

When I installed a couple of weeks ago, it was working fine then. I was able to see the options when executed fmcautil command. But now when I tried to do the same, its showing up these errors I don't know why.
I'm sure I did not change any of the related files, except today when I moved and created 3 files fmcsys.log,fmcerr.log, and fmczchk.log. |

The problem is clear. You did not pay attention to what hos said.
Stop your worklfow QMGR.
Login as fmc (not mqm.... I repeat not mqm). Do not su because I don't believe you.
After you login as fmc, start the workflow QMGR, start the workflow trigger monitor and then workflow server.
Do exactly as I told you. |

I followed exactly the way you said me to do. But I get the same error.
I started FMCQM and Trigger Monitor with fmc id and then started the Admin Server with same id.But when I check the processes using ps -ef|grep main, i still teh see the same processes. I'm really really getting confused now.
I'm sorry for toooo many posts. But I appreciate you guys help a lot. |

Any other suggestioins please |
Have you solved this:
FMC34019E: Cannot open file '/var/fmczchk.log' for writing.
I would take a close look at the install guide, like I said I believe you have a premission problem. |
FMC34019E occurrs when fmc id does not have write permission to the
current directory for writing log. |

This is the result:
$ ps -ef | grep amq | grep FMCQM
fmc 303236 827442 0 12:10:19 - 0:00 /usr/mqm/bin/amqzfuma -m FMCQM

fmc 827442 1 0 12:10:19 - 0:00 amqzxma0 -m FMCQM
$
Incase this might help you in solving my problem:
Series of steps that I performed:
Logged in as fmc (made sure that it can access runtime DB2 and queue manager).
$strmqm FMCQM
$fmczchk –y fmc -d
$runmqtrm –m FMCQM –q FMCTRIGGER &
$fmcamain –y fmc &
$fmcautil –y fmc –u=ADMIN –p=password
I still get the same 'Timeout occured' response. |

There does not appear to be a channel listener started (amqcrsta).
You should have a line in /etc/inetd.conf that looks something like:
fmclFMCQM5010 stream tcp nowait fmc /opt/mqm/bin/amqcrsta amqcrsta -m FMCQM
Or you may start the listener manually by entering
runmqlsr -m FMCQM -t TCP -p 5010 |

I have a line in /etc/inetd.conf something like this:
fmclFMCQM14000 stream tcp nowait mqm /usr/mqm/bin/amqcrsta amqcrsta
-m FMCQM
Because during installation, the port no 14000 was given instead of default 5010. I see that you have mentioned fmc after 'nowait', but i have 'mqm'. Is that causing any problems for me? |

What do you get when you do
netstat -an | grep 14000
Since fmcautil client connects, this might be one of the problems. |

OK
Comment the line in /etc/inted.conf (by putting a # in the beginning
Do refresh -s inted
wait for a minute.
Issue netstat -an | grep 14000
(make sure you don't get any output...meaning port is not in use)
You might have to do the above things as root.
Now as fmc run the listener using runmqlsr
Quote: |
runmqlsr -m FMCQM -t TCP -p 14000 & |
|

I commented that line, refreshed the inetd file, logged out as root and logged in as fmc and then started the listener and made sure it is running on port 14000. Then I re-did the whole process, but my fate continues, result is the same:( |
